Coaching 2009 (Coaches to be named shortly)For information telephone MARTIN LAVOIE:
Each team needs two coaches, and there is much to be said for having three. It is very desirable that at least one coach in each team be bilingual. You do not need to be a retired pro soccer player to coach, but you do have to wiling to commit to the team for the season. This typically involves two or three games or practices per week from May till August. Most coaches also take their teams to one or two tournaments in July or August. Coaches must be adults. The coach also has to arrange travel etc. for his/her team to away games, normally in parents cars. Coaches have to attend club meetings, normally about three per year. Most coaches are parents of one or more players in the team they coach, but this is not necessary. There are weekend courses for coaches, and the club will pay for any that you wish to attend. Coaches have to be registered with the Association Soccer de al Richelieu et Yamaska. The Lac Brome club pays the fee, but coaches must complete the forms and provide a photograph, in a similar fashion to the players. Below are various "Lineup" sheets which coaches may find helpful. |
